In heavy rain and storm I visited Leiden. I went there with a friend, who studies history in Leiden and knows a lot about the town. Despite the dirty weather it was a lovely day. We climbed The Burcht, from where we had a lovely view over the town. We visited several court houses (hofjes) and found ourselves in the middle of a 16th century painting. With the 16th century painting I mean the interior of the 'Leiden American Pilgrim museum'. The museum is located in a beautifully preserved house built around 1365-1370. It tells the story of the founders of New England, the Pilgrims. 
The museum only has three rooms, but we found it worth visiting. I hope the pictures I made show you how pretty Leiden is.
