Hi everyone! Happy Twelfth Day of Christmas and Happy New Year! Except for a couple of very small posts, I've been absent from blogging since early in December.
My dad underwent open heart surgery on December 29th to replace a leaking valve, and I'm so happy to report that he is doing very well! Our family is extremely THANKFUL!!
They say that timing is everything, and my timing is just about too late for a Christmas tablescape. :) I'm just barely in time for Epiphany; but I couldn't let the season go by without a Christmas tablescape.
I'll try to keep the wording to a minimum on this post, as it is late at night, and I'm very tired. I've always wanted to do a Christmas table with plaids, and this year, I finally did it. I love tartan plaids, especially in winter, so this table was a lot of fun for me to put together.
The centerpiece is all faux greenery and berries in a beautifully painted cache pot. It was a Christmas gift from my husband's grandmother several years ago. I've enjoyed it so very much. Brass candlesticks with Colonial Candles in Cranberry and faux Boxwood candle rings.
Red napkins with ivy and poinsettia cutwork from The Christmas Tree Shop coordinate with red quilted placemats from Steinmart. The napkin rings are Lenox "Nouveau Plaid".
Festive party plate with plaid bow and bottle brush trees.
I love, love this cutwork table runner with gold stitching on the holly leaves and berries. The greenery on this plate is real, from our Holly tree and Nandina bushes. I even found a plaid pillar candle this year.

The Christmas crackers we've had for many years.
Our terra cotta Nativity on a plaid table runner.
As usual, I saved the candlelight shots for last. I love this kissing ball hanging from the chandelier. I found it several years ago at a local gift shop.
If you look really hard, you can see the design on this glass plate, a long-ago purchase from our Reading China. I was so disappointed when they closed their stores in North Carolina. The etched design depicts a Christmas tree, surrounded by a little village, trees, people, and a snowman.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday blessed with family, friends, and love. As always, I thank you for stopping by the House at Forest Manor. I really enjoy your visits and I read each and every one of your comments. May 2012 be a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous year for all of you.
Denise
